Hi,

if understood right the debugger ALWAYS uses a GEL file when connecting to a target. Right?

Where is this startup GEL file its using or how can I figure out which one is used?

Background: Im having some clock issues with the AM3357 and I think the GEL file is configuring a wrong frequency for the peripherals

Hi Gautam,

thank you but the documents didnt help me. I cant figure out where to find or see the "standard gel file" which is used in my project.

ok I figured it out:
If no GEL file is used (its possible) then the settings of the bootloader are used.

Damian - a startup GEL file is very common in the early/mid stages of development. But in the late stages, it is very common to not use one. By then, most people have implemented whatever target initialization the GEL file would do into the bootloader and the GEL file becomes redundant. In some cases it can negatively impact debugging since actions in the GEL file may wipe out whatever existing initialization was already done by the bootloader and put the target in a bad state (very common for people using CCS doing low-level Linux kernel debug).
