CCS6 Installation hangs at "Choose Installation Location"

Hello,

I am attempting to install CCS6.0.1.00039 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. I have the .zip which I have copied to the machine's hard drive and extracted the contents. The .zip has the correct MD5 hash.

I am running the .exe in administrator mode. I accept the licence agreement and move to the "Choose Installation Location" and request to install at C:\ti.

Clicking next on this screen does absolutely nothing! It doesn't even think about doing anything. I can immediately go back or cancel. I have clicked next and left the machine for 30 mins and still nothing has happened. There is no anti-virus running on the machine. Nothing appears in the Windows logs.

This has been installed on other Windows 7 machines without issues.

Does anyone have any pointers or thoughts on why this may be the case?

Turns out 45 mins does the trick. Installation continues normally after this (very large) pause.

Maybe you faced this known issue : "Note: There is a known issue with a installation progress dialog hanging when installing additional add-on's."

Hi Bernd,

Thanks for the answer, although I did not install any add-ons the symptom sounds very similar. I just left it alone and it corrected eventually.

Hi Adam ,

I am also have the same issues in installing code composer studio v6.

Code composer studio hangs on choose installation location.

I waited for long for more than 2-5 hrs doent make any difference .

Hi,

It looks like the installer is unable to access the web for a file it needs. As a workaround, please run the offline installer with the following parameter:

<installer>.exe --override-apps-url ""

Please note, there are 2 dashes before override and the parameter to that is empty double quotes.

I have tried to install from command window an error message no value provided for option --override-apps-url""

Please see the attached error message.

I have also attached the log files which was created while installation yesterday.6232.ccsv6.zip

There has been an error.
No value provided for option --override-apps-url
use --help to get a list of valid options

Hi,

Looks like you're missing a space between the --override-apps-url and the double quotes.

It should be:

ccs_setup_6.1.2.00015.exe --override-appsurl ""

Hi Danish,

Thank you for your reply.

Code composer studio is installed now with a missing space.

Now I am getting an error message Failed to create the Java Virtual machine.

I have edited ccstudio configuration settings removed "256M"

But still getting this error.

Please advice

Hi Danish,

Its working now .
After changing
-Xmx768m

Reduce that value to:
-Xmx512m
