CCSv6.1 locks up in Linux

I don't have a .ti\<CCSV6 INSTALL FOLDER>\0\dmp folder.

I have .ti/ti/0/dump, but it only has one subfolder (slow). Neither have any contents.

I have a .ti/ti/0/0 folder with .cache and .dat files and some other files and two subfolders.

I also have a .TI folder, but nothing close to what you are describing.

Also so this problem does sometimes occur when I'm in the editor.

That's odd, it should be 'dmp', not 'dump'.

Thank you for providing the contents of the folder. Unfortunately it does not look like the hangs are coming from the debugger since there are no "hang" files.

Unfortunately, without a reproducible test case, it is hard to determine why the hang is occurring. I've had CCSv6.1 on Ubuntu 14.04-64 for some time but I don't think i've seen this particular issue. Sometimes I've had it so that the whole IDE goes 'dim' for a few seconds but it comes back on its own after a bit. I just attributed that to the sluggish performance of my Ubuntu machine (an old Celeron D).

CCS 6.1.2 hung when scrolling through the Interrupt Analyzer Graph, taken from a MSP-EXP432P401R using the onboard XDS110 with SWO trace transport. At first I believed this was a repeatable test case to create a hang, since after killing and then re-starting CCS 6.1.2 a hang could be generated by taking another Interrupt Analyzer trace and scrolling though the Interrupt Analyzer Graph. The following screen shot was taken at the point the CCS 6.1.2 GUI hung, with the last action taken to click on the scroll bar on the Interrupt Analyzer Graph:

The screen shot shows the number of editor tabs and debug views open when I had the repeated hang (got the hang in 5 restarts of CCS 6.1.2 using the same workspace and leaving the displayed editor tabs and debug views open).

After closing all the editor tabs and debug views, and starting another debug session and only explicitly opening the Interrupt Analyzer view so far I have been unable to repeat the hang, in that can take an Interrupt Analyzer trace under the same target conditions as before and have scrolled the Interrupt Analyzer Graph without CCS hanging.

Therefore, maybe the hang is caused by some combination of views / editor tabs being on display at once.

The crash only occurred on one workspace. When deleted the .metadata directory in the problematic workspace and re-imported all the projects the crashes on attempting to open the Resource Explorer, CCS App Center or GUI Composer views no longer occurred.

From poking around the libraries under eclipse/plugins/com.ti.chromium.browser.gtk.linux.x86_1.0.0.201512011200/libs only get loaded into the CCS process after have opened the Resource Explorer, CCS App Center, GUI Composer or Grace configuration. Will attempt to run without any of those views open to see if the CCS hangs / crashes still occur.
