Floating license for ten copies of CCS

Hello,

I am tryng to provide a floating licesne for ten CCSv4 seats for one of our customers.  I provided10 CDs to our customer (with 10 node locked licenses). However our customer suggested that they beleieve they should receive one CD and 10 licenses.

Instead of receiving 10 node locked CDs, can you plese let me know if I shoduld send one floating license CD, to enable our customer to have ten floating license seats?

Please let me know, and thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,

Todd

  • Well, 10 floating licenses are more expensive than 10 node locked licenses. Obviously the floating licenses are more flexible so if the customer is willing to pay the extra cost, it is certainly worth it.

btw -  I'm not sure how they do the packaging of the DVDs, but AFAIK all the DVDs should basically have the same image of code composer and there is no specific "floating license DVD" or "node locked DVD" that I am aware of. Maybe it comes with an activation code for a float  or node-locked. Basically what I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter what DVD they have, they can install it and pass in the appropriate license later.

  • Hi Ki-Soo,

Thank you for all of your help!  Can you please let me know the next steps I should follow so that the 10 copies sent to our customer can be activated as ten floating licenses?  I am not sure who to contact for help with this final step.

    Thank you!

    Todd
