TMS570LS3137 compiling with GNU in CCS on big endian platform

I am using the latest version of CCS with GNU compiler that the tool provides on a TMS570LS3137 HDK big endian platform. The project compiles fine but when I tried to flash the board then I get the following error shown below. I am choosing the BE32 endianess in the project. is there any other place that I need to setup the endianness?

To narrow down the issue (compiler or debugger), would you please rebuild the project with TI compiler and see if the issue would go away?

Zhaohong,

My original project was using TI compiler, and I was able to compile and debug the project without issues. Then I moved onto testing my project with the GNU compiler provided with CodeComposerStudio and the result is the error provided at the beginning of the thread.

Fernando,

I did additional test using GCC with CCS and apparently the code is always compiled in little endian.
I was able to download the code in an RM48 part without problem.
I will open a ticked on CCS forum to ask them to have a look.

Fernando,

I am also blocked because of the same issue. I am using CCS 6.0.1 with GNU compiler for TMS570LS3137 HDK big endian platform. I have gone through the solution link but the required binaries no more exists. I don't have necessary tools to build and apply patch to generate them. Can you please share the binary files or suggest any alternate solution?

Omkar,

One other option would be to use the RM48L952 instead of the TMS570LS3137. This is a good option if you are in the industrial or medical (non-transportation) space and do not need FlexRay.
The device is very similar but has USB and it is LITTLE ENDIAN - which tends to be much better supported by open source tools.

Unfortunately, using the Linaro ARM GCC compiler bundled with CCS to build code for the Hercules TMS570 family of devices is an unsupported combination.
