I am attempting to generate a CCS4 license (node locked) for my laptop and a lab machine. I went through the activation for the laptop several months ago and opted to enter the secondary mac address at a later date (it is now a later date).
I went through the "re-host a license" steps, this time entering the lab machine MAC addresss in the Secondary Host ID field. I received a new license file and it works fine with my laptop. However when I try to use it on the lab machine CCS4 is unable to find a valid license in the .lic file. I have triple checked that I entered the MAC address correctly and verified the the mac address is listed in the .lic file.
Why will the license file not work on the lab machine? Have I gone through the wrong procedure?
Any help is appreciated.

Matthew,
On the lab machine what is the exact error message? I.e. does it say:
or something else?
John
When attempting to get the error message, the license install succeeded. I am not sure what has changed from yesterday but the software is showing up as licensed now.
Odd.
Was there another license on the machine before? The license system remembers the last license it was using so maybe it was still trying to get an older license before.
Glad it is working now.
John
No there was not a license before, CCS4 had never been installed on the machine. The only thing I have changed since yesterday was closing code composer studio and reopening. The error it was giving before was said something about not being able to find a valid license in the file specified.
Thanks for the quick response.
Matthew
