Differences between CCSv6 & Lauterbach development tools?

Hello,

Can someone tell me what the major differences are between CCSv6 & Lauterbach development tools?

Thx,,
Mark

  • Hi Mark,
I'd also recommend posting in the device forums. There would be more people who have used Lauterbach there.

    Thanks

  • Hi Mark,

The major differences between the CCS and the Lauterbach are the following

    1. All the TI platforms are supported in CCS but limited TI platforms were supported by Lauterbach. ( For example: MSP430, C2000, Tiva, Hercules, Stellaris, Sitara, OMAP, C6000, C5000 )

    2. 90 day Freeversion is available in CCS but free version may not be available in Lauterbach.

Go to this website in which the IDEs,  CCS and Lauterbach tools features and the platforms supported were given. Please have a look

    Regards,

    Shankari

  • Does Lauterbach have IDE capable of building the C6000 & ARM Cortex-R4 s/w projects?

If it does then I suppose the TI C6000 & ARM compilers could be used with the Lauterbach IDE.

  • Mark,

Trace32 is a debugger. It can be used to debug programs that were built using various TI compilers. It is not meant to be an IDE. Its strength is in its debug and trace capabilities which are more advanced than what we offer in CCS.

There website describes the features and includes links to brochures with more details. It is an expensive but powerful tool.
