Problem using XDS510USB Plus Emulator with DM8168 from CCSv6

Hi,

I am trying to connect the DM8168 board from XDS510USBPlus emulator with CCSv6 Node lock licensed. The test connection is detecting the device. When I select for debugging it show devices as unknown & disconnected. When I select "Connect Target", the CCS is going almost stuck and finally gives error as given below:

------------------------

CortexA8: JTAG Communication Error: Error 0xA00020A0/-1250 Error during: Execution, Target Communication, Control, Device driver: Lost USB connection to emulator. You should ABORT and restart to re-establish the USB link.
IcePick_D_0: Power Failure on Target CPU
CS_DAP_DebugSS: Power Failure on Target CPU

-------------

But the same set up is working with CCSV5, which I installed and tried with trial license. OS used is 32-bit Windows 7.

Can you please suggest ho to resolve this problem.

regards

  • Hello,

I was able to connect to the A8 of my DM8168EVM using CCSv6.1.0 and a Spectrum Digital XDS510USB PLUS:

Note that the first time I tried to connect with the XDS510USB, CCS got hung and I don't know why. I just closed CCS, power-cycled the target and tried again and it worked after that. You can also try using a different USB port since your error indicates a USB connection (PC <-> Emulator) failure. If you are using a USB hub, try using a USB port not on a hub.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have recycled the power many times. Still the issue is same.

It is working with CCSV5.3 from same PC and same USB port.

What might be the problem with CCSv6? I want it to be working on CCSv6 since I have taken license for CCSv6.

    regards

  • Hello,
Sorry for the delay in response. I missed your last reply. My apologies.

Are you using the latest CCSv6 version (6.1.0) and the latest version of the Spectrum Digital drivers? If you are and you still see the error, can you generate debug server log and zip it and attach the zip to this thread?
