CCS 6.1.0 install error

I'm trying to install CCS 6.1.0 on windows xp 32 bit. I've tried the web installer and full installer (700mb download) with the same result. I double click ccs_setup_6.1.0.00104.exe and immediately get the error message "Code Compower Studio 6.1.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close.". No CCS installation directory is created or error logs that I can find. I did find some CCS_Setup_6.1.0 prefetch files created under C:\Windows\Prefetch. How do I open these files? Would they contain information on the install problem?

How can I fix installation error?

Hi,
Did you unzip the offline installer package? Please make sure unzip doesn't flatten the directory structure.

Temporary installation logs are created in %TEMP% - look for bitrock*log files there and post them here. I'll take a look and help you through this.

Yes the package was unzipped. I attached a screenshot of the unzipped package.

I searched the c: drive for "bitrock" and found no files.

I ran the installer again with the same error occuring. Then I searched for any file on the c: drive that changed. Attached if a list of files that changed.

Can you type %TEMP% in the explorer window's address bar and see if there's any bitrock*.log files there?

I typed in %TEMP% and no bitrock file is there. I did a search for *.log files in the temp folder and the attached screenshot is what was found.

Any other ideas? Is there a software package I can install to monitor the installation?

I was able to install Code Composer Studio Core Edition 4.0.1.01001. I then tried to install version 6.1 and have same error message "Code Compower Studio 6.1.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I hope you're installing the package in some other location ie other than c:/ti

The 6.1 installation doesn't make it to any splash screen or GUI to select a directory, it crashes before making it that far. Click the install exe, wait a couple seconds, then the error message pops up.
