Can we have multiple workspaces in CCS Cloud?

Looking at the CCS Cloud interface, we see a "Workspace" folder named "default". I already have a number of projects in this folder and want to create a new workspace, but cannot figure out how to do this. Is this possible?

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious. I just couldn't find a way to do this - or even rename the 'default' project.

    This feature is not on the roadmap, but technically it would not be difficult to implement.

    Is there any particular reason you would like to have multiple workspaces? Organizing your projects, perhaps?

    Yes, the basic premise is for organizing projects.

    But more than that, today I cannot have more than one cloud project with the same name. For example, if I wanted to create a "Blink" project for both the MSP430FR5969 and 'FR6989 processors, I would have to name them differently. While this isn't necessarily 'bad', today I've been using different workspaces to hold the projects for different targets.

    Summarizing:

    • This is not a fatal flaw, it's simple to work around the limitation. That said, it would be nice to allow additional workspaces.
    • Extra workspaces would help to minimize project name collision.
    • Without multiple workspaces - or the ability to hide/show projects (which would also be nice, by the way) - a users list of projects could easily scroll off the screen.
    • I don't think the Cloud supports IDE variables (yet), but multiple workspaces might simplify handling preferences such as these.

    Sorry about the delay. A bugzilla entry was filed and will probably follow the following basic functionality:
    - New user will get a default workspace
    - File --> Workspace, to select existing workspace or create/delete/rename (limit to 5 workspaces?)
    - Next restart IDE will use last selected workspace

    The reason its functionality is simplified when related to CCS offline is to avoid it being too obtrusive to the workflow.

    Please feel free to suggest other options in the bugzilla entry (sent separately)
