XDS510 license

hi,

i recently downloaded CCS 5.5 from ti.com and it is working fine with my 5510 DSK when connected directly to the board, now i need to use my XDS510 USB emulator or XDS510 USB plus emulator, it seems that i need a license for both (I'm considering the 90-days free trial), but my problem is that the Lab's computer is offline.

my questions are: - how can i download the license and then install it on an offline computer?

- if i want to permanently use those emulators, what can i do? (buy a license? buy CCS?...) and where i can do so?

- on earlier version of CCS there was a flash burn solution (it came with my kit on the CD along with CCS 3.3), is there any similar solution that i can try to burn data on external flash?

Hi Aziz,

Yes, you either need Evaluation License or CCS Full license. As for Evaluation license you need a working net connection or else an Activation ID which you can enter here to get the license file: www.ti.com/activatesoftware

Also, using CCSv6 would be recommended for support.

Sorry Aziz, Flash burn is the only software I'm aware of. I checked the Spectrum Digital's Site but they don't have it for download.

sorry Gautam, one more question please, how can i find my CCS ID, it said that it should be on the box but i download it from ti website.
any idea?

Years ago TI sold the Flashburn software to a third party company called Software Design Solutions (SDS). Check their website for details:

Flashburn comes from a company called Software Design Solutions. There is more information here:

If you are connecting to the DSK then the free version of flashburn should work.

If you purchase CCS then it comes with an activation id. If you just downloaded and are looking to use the free license then there is no ID. For the initial evaluation license you do not need a network connection. That can be generated locally. If you need to extend the license (we offer a 90 day extension) then it will fail if you try to do it from CCS as it needs a connection to reach the site. Alternatively there is a link in our FAQ where you can go and generate the license file from a different connected PC. However you will need the MAC address of the PC you will be running CCS on.
