View Variable & Expressions doesn't show data

I try to see variables, structures ect in variable view and also in expression view but all the time it give me error like this one

"hidEmuKbdCfg unknown Error: identifier not found: hidEmuKbdCfg" the type of expression to find is change but the error stay the same. I do it also in variable vie and expression view by drag the structure to look for to the right table. I read CC2640 wireless MCU Software developer guide For BLE-Stack™ Version: 2.0.0 in the section 9.3 Watching Variables and Registers but couldn't see any. As I see it all the structures are local to there file so I assume variable view is the right one. But I also try the expression. I alos assume that when I am in a function inside the file I should see all the local variable automatically in the variable view but it is not.

What I do wrong?

Hi Bar,

I hope the variable is declared globally. If yes, then try cleaning or switching your workspace.

Thanks Gautam for you answer.

I take the HIDEmuKbd example. There all varibles and struct define static in each c file. So I don't know if it count as globle or not. But even if it is local in the guide it say that if I put them in the variable view when I in the function it should show there values also. But it send me the some error.

Still wait for an answer about local varible value check. Someone told me hat active optimazer block the optiojn to see the varible value. So I make it off and still can't see any local varible in any function .In IAR all the local varible present and the function I am in are show. Is there also something like that in CCS. It is very helpful and powerfull.

Bar, actually I don't have the project and device to try out the same and hence I'm unable to assist. Wait for a day for the TIers to respond.

I hope that soemone from TI can check it out. I do it on the HIDEmuKbd project with the DVPack emulator.

Hello,
Sorry for the delayed response.

Did you port the HIDEmuKbd project to a CCS project or did you build outside CCS and just using CCS as a debugger?

hidEmuKbdCfg should be able to be evaluated after BIOS_start() is called:

Try (asm) stepping into BIOS_start() and see if the variable can be evaluated

For file statics, you can use a syntax in the expressions view like: '<file name>'::<static var name> (e.g. 'peripheral.c'::testvar2)
