On-Chip Flash can't find Database File

Running  Version: 4.1.1.00014 on XP SP3.

I connect to the device and then I select Tools->On-Chip Flash.

The window then show this error message:

Error: Database File (TMS320C2812_FlashProperties.xml) cound not be found.

Make sure the selected page is supported on the device.

I searched the computer and the file was found here:

C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\DebugServer\propertyDB

Thanks in Advance

  • Francis,

It looks like you configured the device to be TMS320C2812, which does not have Flash memory.

If you actually have the TMS320F2812 board, with On-Chip Flash memory, please reconfigure your target configuration file in the Target Configuration view.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Ricky,

Thanks for the reply.  You where right.  It was misconfigure as a C2812.

However, when I have it configured as F2812, the top heading for the On-Chip Flash window says:

    On-Chip Flash (TMS320C28xx)

Also,  There's no option to select a COFF file to program on the On-Chip Flash window.  Is there some other way to specify the file?

I would like to attach some screen shots but I don't know how to...

    Thanks,

    Francis

  • Francis,

    1. The "TMS320C28xx" string in this case is specifying the family of devices for the current view.

    2. To load a program to Flash memory, just use the "Load Program" feature. In the top menu, "Target" -> "Load Program..."

    3. You can attach screenshots on this forum by going to the "Options" tab when you are composing the message.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks.

    Ricky
