connection with xds510 emulator to dm6446

Hi,

I have dm6446 board and xds510  (not xds510 plus) spectrum digitals emulator with 14 pin connector.
Since dm6446 has 20 pin male connector , so i purchased spectrum digitals 14-20 adapter (part number # 701219) to connect the target.

On connecting the target with Xds510+ 14-20 adapter  it is giving "Device driver: Emulation Connection Loss Detected on Target CPU. It is recommended to RESET EMULATOR. This will disconnect each target from the emulator. The targets should then be power cycled or hard reset followed by an emu reset and reconnect to each target" Error.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

  • Hi,

It's been many years ago but I recall that, to use XDS510USB (not plus) with DM644x devices you would need an adaptive clocking adapter such as this one.

The reason is the DM644x (as well as DM3x) have an ARM9 core that requires adaptive clock to reliably connect.

On your second paragraph, are you trying to connect using the XDS510USB plus or non plus? Sorry, I got a bit confused.

If you are, in fact, using a XDS510USB plus and is still getting an error, try enabling adaptive clocking  on the target configuration editor - check question 3.1 of this page.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
