CCSv6 Antivirus installation

Sorry I originally put this post on the wrong forum so I am repeating it here.

Someone please explain why Code Composer V6 insists that anti virus real time scanning be turned off during installation. This really stinks of malware!  I can't find any reference to this vexatious and distressing requirement in this forum or on the TI web site. Is there some way of validating the executable before doing this installation, a checksum or something? If I pay for the software will I have this same inexplicable scare?  If this is legit, someone (of reliable character like a moderator) please post a warning.

  • Hi Tim,
Sorry for the pain. Basically some anti-virus software is aggressive and interferes with the CCS installer and there are so many flavors of anti-virus software out there that we cannot test them all. So we ask people to temporarily disable it to avoid any potential issues. It is only a small handful of anti-virus software. Kaspersky is a known one that has caused issues. While Symantec and MSSE does not (I've used both and I never have to disable them to install CCS). What anti-virus software do you have installed?

    Thanks
    ki
