Repeatable error installing grace and/or mspware in CCS6

I need to program the MSP430F2013 using the ez430 kit. That works fine in itself, but I very much would like the easier peripheral setup Grace promises, so I tried to install that from CCS

I repeatedly get a download error when trying to install Mspware separately or Grace (Grace loads Mspware). The problem relates to the mspware root package. It downloads up to approx 386MB of the 388MB filesize, then stops and after a while a timeout is generated. Other modules install fine.

This the error:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Unable to read repository at software-dl.ti.com/.../com.ti.msp430.msp430ware.win32_root_2.21.0.39.
Read timed out


I tried to manually download the package from my firefox browser, which seems to work (same delay at the end, but it does complete the download without error). But, then what to do with the file?

I'm on  CCS Version: 6.1.0.00104 and ran all the updates. The problem is purely with the mspware package

    Can you try the steps mentioned in item #5 in this wiki section and let us know if it helps?

    Good tip, tried it, unfortunately did not help one bit.

    I have tried other things since, one of them installing the Grace package through a vpn connection to my company (Sweden) instead of direct (Netherlands). Then it did install. MSPWare is completely hopeless however, always stalls in the last MByte or so :-(
    Strange thing is that I think I noticed Grace also installing MSPWare, but once Grace is installed MSPWare remains available for selection...

    I have tried uninstall of CCS with subsequent removal of the C:\ti directory, make the new install as clean as possible, but nothing helps.
    It's probably some obscure low level timing thing in java. Hopefully the next version of mspware will download ok.

    For the moment I installed MSPWare as separate package. Then CCS found that on startup and now I have some? of it available.
    Grace however, even though properly installed as app in CCS is only half available (Just the snippets and examples). So, I installed that separately as well.

    Grace doesn't work for me too in 6.1.0 or 6.1.1
