CCS v6.1 Editor Window disappears when using Hardware Trace

Hi,

I think I found a situation in which the Editor Window in CCS permanently diasppears:

  • Load and Run an application
  • Start the Hardware Trace Analyzer, e.g. PC Trace
  • Drag the "Trace Viewer" window into the main Editor Window
  • Restart CCS

After this sequence, I'm only able to get the Editor Window back by using a different Workspace.

    I believe I am able to reproduce what you are seeing. At first I was not able to see the problem. For me I had to close all other editor windows (other than the Trace Display) then I could see the problem after I restarted CCS. It has something to do with the fact that CCS closes the Trace Viewer automatically when you terminate a debug session. You might be able to hit this even without restarting CCS.

    I was able to get my editor area back by going to Window -> Navigation -> Switch to Editor. Click Select All then click the Close button. I had also clicked on the activate editor menu item. Since doing this I can't get the editor to go away completely.

    I will file a defect to trace the issue with the editor disappearing.
