How to install CCS v6.1 with existing Eclipse

Hi Folks,

I have eclipse and CDT already installed on my machine and would like to add CCS v6.1

I checked the instructions here:  http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Installing_CCS_over_Eclipse The latest information being for CCS v5.5, but the installer for v6.1 does not appear to have any option to install plugins into an existing Eclipse installation...

Please advise how this should be done.

Thanks, T

  • Hello,

IIRC, there was similar question some time ago and the response was that with 6.x there is no option to merge CCS into existing Eclipse installation. Let TI people confirm once again.

However, I'd like to share my experience with some of 5.x. I had a plan to use Eclipse for standalone projects and merged CCS for DSP programming. However, neither was smooth, so after several attempts I decided I'd better have separate installations.

  • Thanks rrlagic, I'd forgotten CCS could be installed side-by-side!

Would be preferable to stick with a single installation on my lower-end laptop though :\

    Good choice!

Yes, unfortunately that feature of adding CCS to an existing Eclipse installation is no longer supported with CCSv6. Sorry about the inconvenience.
