Upgrade from CCS 6.1 to 6.1.1 fails

CCS (6.1.0) automatically found an update to 6.1.1 yesterday. I clicked to install the update, but (after multiple attempts, including running CCS as administrator) it always fails. The last line of the installation log says:

general exception Unknown Host: http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/CCSv6/CCS6.1.1.00022_win32/featurerepo/content.xml

...and to test, even trying to go to http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/CCSv6/CCS6.1.1.00022_win32/featurerepo/content.xml in a web browser returns text saying "file not found".

This should have been easy!!

Kind Regards

Matt

  • Hi Matt,

I juts updated my CCS v6.1.0 to CCS v6.1.1 and I must say it was very smooth. Do you feel your anti-virus or firewall is blocking the installation?

    Regards,
    Gautam
  • Hi Gautam

I don't have any anti-virus (other than windows defender) and default windows firewall settings. I've not had (and still don't have) a problem installing/updating CCS modules. Do you see a "file not found" error at the URL posted?

I've "updated" by uninstalling 6.1 and installing a fresh download of 6.1.1. That works, but if anyone has more thoughts on why the in-program update didn't work it might help someone else.

    Kind Regards

    Matt
  • Hi Matt,
Unfortunately, without installation logs (installdir's install_logs* folders), it's impossible to tell what went wrong and if you've already uninstalled, the install logs have been removed.
The link you have above won't work because you're looking for a file that's actually inside a .jar file. Eclipse knows how to find it, so that's not the problem.
Please let us know if you run into any other issues.
