Can't get into CCS after attempting to install MSP430v4.4

I attempted to install MSP430v4.4 from View->CCS AppCenter. After I made this attempt though, I received a message stating that I needed to have administrator privileges to do this. Now I can't use CCS at all, since every time I start it up, I get the following error message:

"This installer requires administrator privileges. Please become administrator before executing the installer."

Can I work around this somehow? It might take a while before our IT people will be available to help me out.

Hi Dean,
What CCS version are you using? And what host OS are you using? If you are using some Linux distro, did you install as root or with sudo?

I'm using CCS 6 .0.1 on Windows 7 Enterprise.

What privileges was CCS installed under and what privileges do you run CCS with?

I'm pretty sure that it was installed with admin privileges. Unfortunately, I don't have admin status, so I'm at the mercy of our tech support staff. It will probably take a long while before they get around to this though, so if there's some way that I can fix or work around this problem (i.e. CCS quitting on me at start up), that would be terrific.

Ok, that makes sense. Since CCS was installed under admin, you can only install updates as an admin also. To workaround the issue, try renaming the 'downloads' folder in <CCS INSTALL DIR>\ccsv6\eclipse\ so that CCS cannot find the updates to install. That will prevent you from being locked out of CCS. Then when IT finally can get to you, they can log in as admin and then rename the folder back and restart CCS to finish the update.
