Trouble Creating Custom Project Templates

So I'm trying to create a project template in Code Composer that will automatically include ControlSUITE files to reduce the time it takes students to set up a project using a C2000 family microcontroller.

However, making a project template  is not an intuitive process.

I tried using this wiki to create a new template :http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Project_Templates_in_CCS

However, I wasn't even able to get CCS to recognize the example MSP430 template. I've looked around at other E2E questions without any avail. 

I'm currently running CCS Version: 6.1.1.00022
