I've been developing code for TMS430 with CCS. I now have to do some development for TMS320. Can I use the same CCS executable?

Yes, "MSP" not "MPS".

yes CCS can support both MSP430 and C28x devices. As long as you have device support installed for both families, you can use the same CCS installation/executable.
