RTDX on TMS320F28027

Hi,

I spend some time trying to get the RTDX working on my TSM320F28027.

But I just can't get it up and running in CCS3v3...

Is there any ApplicationNote out there giving a detailed description how to get it all together?!?

I need to know which files need to be modified and which libraries must be included to make use of the RTDX functions.

What kind of emulator are you using? RTDX is not supported on XDS100.

we are using a Black Hawk USB 2000 as an Emulator.

Mario,

I checked with Blackhawk and the USB2000 does support RTDX.

What are you trying to do with RTDX? Typically we only use it for DSP/BIOS RTA these days. I would not recommend investing a lot of time instrumenting your application and writing a host program to analyse the data.

thank you very much for checking the support of RTDX.

What we actually want to do is stream data out of the DSP for debugging. There is an algorithm running and get the calculated values during run time. I Thought RTDX would be a convenient way of getting data out of the DSP into the (host) application.

Do you have any other idea how to get the data without halting the CPU?!?

All the time critical code runs in an ISR. The frequency the ISR will be called is 192 kHz.

On paper RTDX is perfect for this type of thing. I caution you a bit as RTDX is something that is not well supported. There are some RTDX resources here:

An alternative would require you to do something like write code to push the data out over UART.

Are you running DSP/BIOS? If so you could use LOG_Printf() which is a real-time printf. It actually users RTDX underneath.
