TI-RTOS FatSD exmaple for FR5969 error exceeds code size limit

I import the project from Ti-Resource Explorer. Code composer studio 6.1.1 or 6.0.1 when I build I get error message "exceeds code size limit" I have the full version of CCS. The 6.1.1 is a fresh install with no legacy libraries / modules.

Any help would be appreciated.

Michael -

I believe this error indicates that the code is too large to compile into the selected device. I'm going to try this on my laptop to confirm.

Have you tried adjusting the optimizations in the project setting to optimize for size?

So I just downloaded the demo from TI and tried it unmodified before. Now I turned on optimize for size, large memory model, far pointers, etc. Same result.

I looked at the .map file before posting and could not find any resource that looked to be running low or out.

Mine builds clean out of the box.

I did some further research on this error, and it is a code size limit due to a license issue. Are you sure the license is installed correctly and that CCS is seeing it?

That was what I started with, and in fact I was on the free license. I installed my license file and it says I have the full license <see picture>. I realized that I didn't have the correct mac address wifi dongle on as I kept pursuing it so I grabbed the wireless dongle that the license is attached to closed everything and restarted. The message license message didn't change and it still gets the same error message. I am now going to grab my laptop and try it.

Well <insert profanity>. It works fine on my laptop, so I guess my issue is with the licensing and the fact that it is showing that I have full license and not working like it does.

OK, so I found the problem with the help of my friends at Arrow Electronics and John Walker. It turns out that I was using an old license file that was tied to another MAC address. I have two licenses but was only paying subscription on one. So now that 6.1.1 doesn't require a subscription my other license my file was valid, but not for the computer I was using.

Very confusing, might I suggest that there be a warning that the machine doesn't contain any MAC addresses in the license file? This cost me most of day that will be hard for me to make up.
