Trying to configure CCS v3.3 for XDS510PP TMS320C6415

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6415

OS: Windows XP, CCS v3.3  XDS510PP Plus

I'm trying to configure CCS for a TMS320C6415, but Code Composer Setup doesn't list the C4xx Family as an option.  I can validate the connection to the DSP via SDConfig, but I can't seem to get CCS configured properly.

When I initiate CCS, I get an error message that the "TMS320C64XX is not supported.  Please re-install Code Composer or select a different driver"

By importing  the c64xx_pp_emulator_0x378.ccs" file, the "sdgov6400_11.dvr" driver file is specified in the setup file, which appears to be the correct driver, and CCS v3.3 should support this device, but there is still a configuration issue.

I've tried using CCS v6.0 previously, didn't have success with it either.  It had issues with the .gel file and I suspect it captures errors in memory configuration that I would need to straighten out to upgrade.

  • Hi Kip,
When you installed CCSv3, did you install all C6000 family support? Inside your CCSv3 installation directory, do you see subfolders 'C6000' and 'c6400'?

    Thanks

  • I don't have the C6000 or c6400 folders in the CCSv3 folder, nor does the installer list them as options. I installed CCSv3.3, for another processor, TMS320F240, as it's the last version that supported it, so it may be a C2000 only version.

For the the CCSv6 install that I have, the evaluation has expired, and I haven't purchased a license since I couldn't get the C6415 to work with it either.
  • Yes I think you have CCSv3.3 for C2000 only.

Can you start a private conversation with me? We can look into your options to get CCSv3.3 with C6000 support.

    Thanks
