CCS v6 Updates Available

I recently installed CCS V6  6.0.1.00040.   The very first time I launched the application the "Updates Available" window appears so I went ahead and downloaded all available updates and proceeded to install. Before installing the updates I stopped the anti virus scanning.

Now when I go to my "start" page, I have two folders, a "Code Composer 6.0.1" and a new folder labeled "Code Composer 5.1.0".  What's up with this?  This isn't even the right version, where did this folder come from?

Both of these folders have the shortcut to the CCS application and when I launch from either location it brings up the same version of CCS, version 6.1.1.00022(Again not 5.1.0).

Also now when I open CCS it says I am using the "free license" and I have to go into the license manager and point to the license server.  I have to do this every time I reopen the application, it does not remember the license server anymore.

How do I clean this up and why did this happen?

  • Hi Steve,

It seems you've CCS v5.1 installed on your PC too prior to CCS v6 installation. If you don't require it... Uninstall it and delete the folder leftover after uninstallation. License issue should be solved after this.

    Regards,
    Gautam

Please see if this FAQ helps with this.

  • Thanks for your reply,
Not really sure what happened here. The new folder in the start menu was labeled "Code Composer 5.1.0" however all the shortcuts inside pointed to the V6.1 install. The older folder "Code Composer 6.0.1" had the exact same shortcuts inside all pointing to the updated 6.1 install. I simply deleted the "Code Composer 5.1.0" folder and renamed the "Code Composer 6.0.1" to "Code Composer 6.1.1". Everything seems to be working now.
