CCS 4.1.1 Install issue - idecore

I have some problems installing Code Composer. I have downloaded the (free) version, and started the install. Everything goes well up until the install of the module called "idecore". Microsoft complains with this message:

"IDE Core 4.1.1.N201003161800 Setup has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I selected "MSP430 only" for the install. I have de-installed and re-installed a few times with same result (and some re-boots). A co-worker with the same download file has no problem with the install, so I know the download file is fine. If I drill down the subdirectories to intall_images -> ccscore I can create the same error by running "idecore_setup_4.1.1.N201003161800.exe"

I'm running on Windows XP, service pack 3, Dell Latitude E6400, Intel Core2 Duo CPU, 3.48G RAM. There are no special characters in the path.

Any thoughts where to go to next?

Can you zip up the contents of C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallJammer Registry\IDE or C:\Program Files\InstallJammer Registry\IDE and attach it to the post?

I'm not seeing a directory like "InstallJammer". Does it require a separate tool? I see there's a tool at www.InstallJammer.com. Should InstallJammer be present as a part of the install?

Steve,

Install Jammer is what our installation programs are built with. Those directories are created when the installer runs and it keeps track of what it has installed. Depending on what your windows settings are they may be hidden. Try typing the full path directly into windows explorer.

Has a solution been found to this problem yet?

I am experiencing an almos identical problem. It is not quite the same because I don't see any error message from the IDE installer saying that it has encountered a problem. What happens for me is that the IDE installer just dies very suddenly and the install dialog window just disappears with no indication why it has failed. I have tried multiple times, both installing the full CCSv4 setup and then, once I had identified which part was failing, the individual IDA install package. Every time, the result is the same: installer dies and nothing gets installed.

I have tried this with both CCSv4 4.1.3.00034 and 4.1.3.00038. The IDE package is idecore_setup_4.1.3.N201007260900.exe.

The version of Windows is XP SP3.

Help on this would be appreciated because, currently, I am completely stuck and unable to install Code Composer Studio.
