Hardware requirements for C6000 V7.4.xx compiler

We get to spec new workstations for our team.  I see that CCSV6 has hardware requirements listed:  recommended 4GB memory and dual core processor.  They note that memory is the most important, so our workstations will come with 8GB for sure, hopefully 16GB.

What about the compiler.  Our projects are pretty large, and complete Clean -> Rebuild takes 2+ minutes.  We are hoping to reduce that time, and yes we already use the parallel build option.  So what would be more important, a processor that has 4 physical cores (8 with hyperthreading), runs at a max of 4GHz, and has 8MB of L3 cache   ..or..  a processor that has 6 physical cores (12 with hyperthreading), runs at a max of 3.3GHz, and has 15MB of L3 cache?  Basically I'm comparing a Intel i7-6700k (Skylake) to a i7-5820k (Haswell-E).

Any thoughts or recommendations are welcome.

Thanks, Dean
