ccs_setup_6.1.2_00015.exe hangs immediately

I downloaded 12-Feb the CCS V6 standalone installation kit onto a Windows 10 notebook

Upon running ccs_setup (run as administrator) an empty window pops up, but nothings happens anymore (Task manager shows no activity), no text, no graphics, nothing. Memory usage decreases after some time.

I read that others are running CCS V6 on Windows 10, but in my case I cannot even install it. (I even disabled Norton virus checker / Firewall; Windows defender is deactivated)

Google did not help, also as I have not found identical symptoms (blank installer window)

An earlier CCS V5.0 installation says immediately, that product is not compatible with OS, but CCS V6.0 does not give this error but simply hangs.

It seems impossible that TI distributes SW that does not run on a nearly year old OS, so any hint where to look for?

Yes, I tried online installer also,

But same effect, window frame comes up, remains empty and no activity seen in Task manager.

Also, I should mention that I have no previous installation of CCS on this computer

Run JAVA 8.0.310

As far as I'm aware, I run following eclipse based IDEs:

-Kinetis design studio 1.1.1

-Qt 1.0.1

Yes, I saw this and the indication about TCL_LIBRARY. I do not have this env. variable.

I tried to run the program from cmd window. It opens (after the "allow this app to make changes" screen) only some empty window and then exits.

Obviously I do not know the purpose of this empty window (title is only program name), as there is no text in this window.

I tried the program on an old XP machine, and installation goes on regularly. So offline installer is downloaded correctly.

Again, this computer run windows 10 with all upgrades. I do not have anymore access to Windows 8.

Hi,

Could you please send us the latest bitrock_installer*.log file from %TEMP%? This might give us some idea as to what's going on.

OK,
I could not find the bitrock_installer*.log . BUT, this way I realized that sometimes in the remote past, I defined a User Environmental variable called TEMP on an external Disk that now is not connected. Deleting this TEMP variable, the Installer started regularly. So I consider this problem as solved. Thank you very much!
(If one knows the solution, all problems seem trivial)

Now I have to figure out what I need to install for being able to program my C5535 EZDSP. But that is another story.
