CCS Debug restart button greyed out

Hi,

I'm having an issue in CCS when debugging with the Restart button being greyed out.

I posted all the details about this with one of your colleagues along with some other issues which he helped me resolve in the following post

As you can see from the post I performed several updates, uninstalls and clean re-installs to try to rectify the issue but the problem still persists on my Windows 7 64 bit SP1 machine.

Can you please help resolve this issue?

Can you post a screenshot of the entire CCS GUI that shows the greyed out button?

Thanks. Your debug context looks fine.

Under the 'Run' menu, is the 'Restart' option greyed out there also?

No it is available in the Run menu.

Strange thing is if you change the currently focused sub window to a different one e.g. from the Code window to Debug, Console, Registers, or Project Explorer then the Restart button becomes available again. It's as though the quick menu Restart needs a refresh or something?

It sounds like a refresh issue.

In the Debug view, if you double-click on the same node in the call-stack (main) or if you click on some other node and then go back to the original node, does it make the button available?

If you just single click on main() in the debug window then the button becomes available, but on the next run and pause it is unavailable again until you click in the debug window again or move focus to another sub window.
If you leave focus on a Registry in the registry window then the button appears to behave as it should as though the refresh in the registry screen causes a refresh of the Restart button.

So I did a clean install on another Windows 7 Pro 64 bit SP1 laptop and get exactly the same behaviour so it's not just isolated to my development laptop.

Hi Stu,
After checking with the engineers here, turns out that this is a known issue that has fixed and will be in the 6.2.0 build coming in May.

The bug tracking number is SDSCM00052751 (though I believe it is an internal bug so it is likely not visible via the external bug tracking portal).
