Install CCSv5 on Win10

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C123GH6PGE

Hi

When I'm installing CCSv5 on Win10, Win10 does not support this.

Can't I use CCSv5 on Win10?

  • Moving it to the CCS Forum
  • CCSv6.1.3 will be the first CCS version to officially support Windows 10. Earlier versions of CCSv6 are known to work well with Windows 10.

I've never tried using CCSv5 with Windows 10, but it doesn't mean it will not work. You can certainly try. However, we will not be able to provide assistance if you do run into issues.

    Thanks

  • Thank you for replying.

I have only board TM4C123GH6PGE, and enclosed USB.

And, in USB, there are only CCSv5 install file.

If I want to run CCS on Win10 normally, do I have to buy new board and CCSv6?

Is there any solutions that I can run CCS on Win10 normally, with these situaitons?

  • CCSv6 supports your target. I would recommend you download it and use that instead. I have 6.1.2 installed on my Windows 10 PC and it works well.

    I tried installation ccsv5 on Win10 anyway.

After installaition, In win7, win8, there appear 3 drivers, but in Win10, drivers appear only 2.

Stellaris virtual serial port(COMx) is not appeared.

Can you give me advice about this?
  • I don't have TM4C board, but I have the same experience on F28069M LaunchPad.

In my case, when the LaunchPad is connected, the on-board XDS100v2 Channel B is not shown. The is due to the driver configuration. I have to launch the "Device Manager" program of Windows 10. Under "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right-click on the item"TI XDS100 Channel B". A properties dialog is shown. In the tab "Advanced", check the option "Load VCP". After the setting, I unplug and re-plug USB cable, then "USB Serial Port (COM6)" appears in the Device Manager.

I don't know if your case is the same as mine. But you can give it a try.

    Btw, I am using CCSv6.1.2.
