How can we execute DSS perl scripts from within the IDE?

Or atleast launch the IDE when running the DSS perl scripts?

I need to use the IDE and scripts in parallel?

This was possible in CCSv3.3 and seems like a very serious limitation in CCSv4.

I know that this is possible using JS.But the point of using PERL is to get more flexibility in the scripts.

The example is using JavaScript but would also apply to a Perl script (use your perl debugger instead of rhino). The key line is getting the CCS Server.

Yes, I found this page as well and was able to use it.

Somehow, I felt the content on the main DSS page seemed to suggest that this can be used only with JS files.

It would be nice if examples are put for perl/python, just for clarity.

$ccsServer = $dss->getServer("CCSServer.1");

$ccsSession = $ccsServer->openSession(".*");

The content also seems to suggest the need of an external debugger to use CCSv4 GUI. I was able to bypass this by using "system("pause");" as a syncing mechanism. It would be good to add this to the wiki as well.
