Again C5509A with CCS4.0x and CCS4.1x

Before we start CCS 4.x we must always first use the SDConfig for the DXS510 USB, Plus to reset the target. If not then CCS4.x can not connect to target.

The SDConfig ALWAYS works, 100% stabile grate software, however CCS4.x normally works, but often we can not connect at all. Then exit, reset sometimes reboot the PC, some magic walking to the coffee machine, and then it works again!!!!!! Or not……

This is frustrating when you are concentrated on a customer issue…

Ideas????

I periodically have problems in CCSv3.x and CCSv4.x where it just doesn't recognize the SD 510USB emulator. Basically CCS makes a call down into the SD driver software and it doesn't connect and you get "Error initializing emulator". Pulling the usb-cable and plugging it back in usually fixes it but sometimes I end up having to run SDConfig and reseting the emulator (R button in SDConfig). Less frequently I can't get SDConfig to connect either and I will try different USB ports and as a last resort reboot my PC.

John, So you got the same problem that I do. But that is not an answer, may problem is that I am debugging my equipment and got no time for this. Also the uncertainty whether my real problems are TI bugs or a real bugs is a problem. I need this fixed, there can not be any issues with the debugger used to debug ...

CC2.21 was the best release yet. A CC2.3 with all the CC2.21 tools would have bin greate.

The emulator and driver software that you have chosen to use come from Spectrum Digital. Their support team may be able to assist you. If you go to http://www.spectrumdigital.com/ There is a Help Desk link under support at the bottom.

Try this: open the file C:\Windows\System32\sdopts.cfg

Make the following change (here's a screenshot):

Terje -- just curious if my suggestion fixed your issue. If so, perhaps I'll add it to a wiki page.

What I have seen in the past is that when you connect with SDConfig and do a reset it will toggle the TRST pin. From that point on CCS can connect to the 55x just fine. The change I suggested would cause TRST to toggle whenever the XDS510USB connects.
