CCS license - migrating to a different PC

Hello:

I am trying to decide between the Fixed and Float licenses for CCS.  Fixed would be more convenient since I can take my work with me on a laptop, but what if that PC needs to be replaced or updated?  Can I migrate the license to a different machine and if so, how many times?  Is there a limit to this?

I do need the full version of CCS for my project development and am willing to purchase the license.

Any feedback or input is welcomed and appreciated!

Thanks again!

Paul

The FAQ http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/FAQ_-_CCSv5#Q:_I_changed_computers_how_do_I_update_.28re-host.29_my_license.3F says you can re-host a license to a different machine online. I have done that successfully once.

What I am sure about is how many times you can re-host the license online before you have to email ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com, since one FAQ has one entry saying you can re-host once before having to email ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com, but the next FAQ entry says the "re-host license option is only available for a limited number of re-hosts" before you have to email ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com :

Q: I changed computers how do I update (re-host) my license?

If you go to www.ti.com/myregisteredsoftware you can change the hostid associated with your license file. This is called re-hosting. Note that you can only do this once, after that you need to contact ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com

Q: Why does the "re-host license" option not show up in myregistedsoftware?

The re-host license option is only available for a limited number of re-hosts. Once those have been used up, it will no longer be available from www.ti.com/myregisteredsoftware. If you need to re-host additional times contact ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com
