I lost my main.c file

hi,

I was compiling simplelink program in my computer suddenly while compiling the PC shutdown ..

I switched on the computer and opened ccs but the main.c file was empty.. I tried to open it in hex editor to see whats in the file... but it shows zero..

The file size is 186kb but shows nothing .. How can i recover my program...please advice..

I am using windows 7.. and ccs 6

Restart your computer and then open the file in the hex editor again.

Your PC already restarted after it shutdown, so disregard my last post. It's strange that your main file would get corrupted during compilation since the compiler is only reading from the file.

CCS has a history feature that may contain the last good content of the main file. Right click on the main.c file in the project explorer and then select "Compare With" and select "Local History".

i tried the local history i shows no local history...
no whats the next step

Check your local history preferences. I am not currently at a computer that has CCS. try this: www.eclipse.org/.../.

Possibly your hard drives FAT was corrupted when when you computer's power whet off.

Making sure your CCS history is turned on will help you in the future if you have the situation happen again.

Recuva is a free programs that will help you recover deleted files. I am not sure if it will help in this situation, but you could try it. Using another computer, install it on a flash drive and then run it from the flash drive.
