Problem with Debugging TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT

Hi,

When I attempt to debug the HVACI_Sensored project with the "Enable silicon real-time mode" and/or "Enable polite real-time mode" options selected, I receive the following error message in the console: "C28xx: Error connecting to the target: Error 0x80000200/-1142 Fatal Error during: OCS, Processor blocked debug accesses."

The only way that I have been able to get around it is by the following method: start debugging with no real-time options selected. While debugging, select the option to "Enable polite real-time mode", apply, and then click debug to restart debugging. Then, go back into the debug options again and select "Enable polite real-time mode," apply, and then click debug to restart debugging. Then I have to stop the debugger, and then start it again and it works, but with the following error message in the console:

"C28xx: Trouble Writing Register ST1: Error 0x00000004/-2012 Error during: Register, Cannot perform operation while CPU is running free.
C28xx: GEL: Error while executing OnTargetConnect(): target access failed.
C28xx: Failed Software Reset: Error 0x00000020/-1138 Error during: Execution, Processor aborted debug context.
C28xx: Failed Software Reset: Error 0x00000020/-1138 Error during: Execution, Processor aborted debug context."

Can anyone help me out?

When real-time mode is enabled, emulation and debug accesses are normally blocked and must be enabled by clearing the DBGM bit in the status register ST1. Depending on the GEL file and debug settings for your CCS project, the debugger may be trying to make accesses during target connect or reset/restart which are blocked, hence you see the error message.

To overcome this, I would recommend establishing the CCS connection to target first without real-time mode enabled, and then enable real-time mode prior to running/debugging. You may also use the GEL scripts Run_Realtime_with_Reset or Run_Realtime_with_Restart (available under menu Scripts->Real-time Emulation Control) if they exist for your device. These GEL functions perform the job of clearing the DBGM bit in ST1 prior to enabling Real-time mode.
