Almost got debugger working on TMDXEVM6486-4 EVM

Hi,

After much hair pulling I have created a target config, lnk.cmd and memory map init GEL files for the TMDXEVM6486-4 EVM.

I've managed to compile download the helloworld app to the local S2 SRAM (0x00800000) with no errors on Core 0.

However I cannot run/step through the program as there is no icons to do this.

Does the DSP have to be in a particular BOOT mode to allow single stepping etc? EVM is currently in as shipped state so I2C Enhanced EMAC boot mode.

Do I need to add GEL_reset somewhere in my GEL file? Or physically reset the DSP once downloaded? What is the correct sequence?

Is there specifc debugger options I've missed?

Any help gratefully received.

Setup details:-

Host OS: XP SP3

IDE Version: Version: 4.1.2.00027 (I installed this version only so haven't installed on top of 4.0 etc)

EVM label : TMS320TCI6486 EVM, TMDXEVM6486-4-625,10000928-05-01-05, Version Number 2.0, Serial No 192

You may have accidentally closed the Debug view. The target execution icons are on the Debug view.

Yes you're right View->Debug sorted me out :-)

Maybe it should be in the FAQ? I noticed at least one other post with a similar issue/fix....

Having three different objects called "Debug" is ever-so-slighty confusing....
