Problem updating to CCS 4.1.2

CCS asked me if I want to update to version 4.1.2.  I said "why not" and clicked OK.  The install process never finished.  It gets stuck at what appears to be right after the installation of  the "debug server".  The install window becomes completely white, except for the windows title.  Any advice, other than removing and reinstalling version 4.0??

  • The updates can be large and the process can take some time. I know that at some point it may look like it is hung (windows don't repaint) while the update is still going on but  eventually it will come back.

  • No, it doesn't come back.  I let it "run" overnight (9+ hours) and it is definitely stuck with a white window.  So, I decide to uninstall and reinstall the original 4.0 version. The install progresses nicely for quite a while (all the items in the two leftmost columns installed), then seems to hang during the installation of the third column items (I let it be for 2+ hours).

  • Can you check if you have any anti-virus software running and if so, disable it prior to installing CCS or any updates? I have heard of a couple of instances where anti-virus software can cause such issues during installation.

  • I disabled all Symantec prcesses, but the install still didn't work.  Then I booted into safe mode then killed all Symantec processes and then I was able to install CCS4.0.  Next, I want to update CCS, so I boot into "safe mode with networking" so the updates can be downloaded and installed via CCS4 update/installer.  Unfortunately, my computer doesn't want to boot into that configuration (seems to hang).  Is it possible to download the CCS4 updates so I can manually install them in safe mode?  I didn''t find any CCS4 updates online.

  • For the CCS Download Site,  you can do a full install of the latest CCS version (4.1.2) directly:
