problem with sprintf after power up

if I run from the debugger, my sprint is fine. after a power up, some of my sprint strings are malformed. for example, i'll have %02d/%02d/%02d %02d:%02d:%02d in the strings.the output will contain some random numbers when they should be 0. I've tried increasing stack and heap size but it didn't help. using a F28069.

From the format, it looks like you are trying to print the date and time. How do you get the value of the current time? If you're using the default time function, you must have a debugger attached to get the right value. If you want to run without using the debugger, you'll need to replace the time function. See processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Time_and_clock_RTS_Functions

the values for each %02d are of unsigned char type.

Okay; how do you know that the arguments to sprintf have the right values before the call? Perhaps the problem occurs before the call?
