Unable to install Code Composer Studio in Ubuntu 16.04

Error showing  "Please set DISPLAY. Code Composer Studio v5 cannot be installed in console mode."

There are problems installing 32 bit libraries in my 64 bit system.

Is it not possible to install ccs in ubuntu 16.04

  • Hi,

Both CCSv5 and CCSv6 were not tested in Ubuntu 16.04 / 64bits, therefore this falls into the realm of "untested" and "unsupported" at this time.

I tried to set up CCSv6.1.3 here but found out the libgcrypt (necessary to run the installer) is only available as version libgcrypt20. With that in mind, I installed the dependencies listed at section 2.1 of the page below for Ubuntu 15.04/64 but simply changed libgcrypt11:i386 to libgcrypt20:i386. The installer was able to run, but still complained about the lack of libgcrypt11.so. I ignored and moved on, and CCS was installer is proceeding successfully (it has not yet finished).

The dependency libgcrypt11 requires a separate package download, as mentioned in the thread below:
    askubuntu.com/.../cant-install-libgcrypt11-on-ubuntu-16-04

I did not yet test the separate install of libgcrypt11, but please give the suggestions above a try and see if it will work for you.

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
  • Hi,

I finished installing CCS and installed libgcrypt11 from the external source as shown in the thread I sent before, and it works for me.

I updated section 2 of our Linux Host Support CCSv6 wiki page with the information.
