C55xx: Trouble Halting Target CPU: Error 0x00000020/-2062 Error during: Execution, Cannot halt the processor ??

Hi,

We are currently evaluating a SEED DSP.COM XDS560PLUS emulator with CCSv4 and have trouble with the following persistent error :

" C55xx: Trouble Halting Target CPU: Error 0x00000020/-2062 Error during: Execution,  Cannot halt the processor "

Effectively it interferes with our debugging process, whatever the reason maybe, as a break-point is NOT correctly processed and the code never stops, not even when activating the halt button in CCSv4.

The XDS560PLUS emulator seems to have been correctly installed as it is recognized by windows. We are using the EVM5505 for target configuration however our target board is a custom built board based on the 5505 DSP.

Any pointers or hints on what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Rgards, M

  • Try reducing the JTAG TCK frequency.  Normally this is done in the ccxml file where you do your target configuration (i.e. where you select your emulator and processor).  It's generally on the "advanced" tab when you click on the emulator in the tree.  (I've not used this specific emulator which is why I sound like I'm a bit unsure!)
