Upgrade Java Version Message during CCS Install

While installing CCSv4 I got the following message "The installer has detected that your Java version is older than 1.5.0.  If you use proxy scripts CCS might fail on start-up.   It is recommended that you upgarde the Java version used by the default browser".  What does it mean? I don't know if I use proxy scripts or not (or what one is)  What do I have to do to do this?

Regards.
Andy

  • Andy,

Browsers use proxy scripts on corporate networks to access the internet.  The answer in your case (TI network) is yes you are using a proxy script to access the internet.  I would bet that you are running IE6.

On startup CCS will try to read the proxy configuration from your browser.  The CCS installer is trying to warn you that this may cause CCS to fail to launch.

You can get a newer version of Java here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

I suppose we could also give the option to update Java directly from the CCS installer.

    Regards,

    John
