Hi,
recently I updated the GCC compiler in CSS to. It seem the GCC compiler is split into two packages:
MSP430 GCC Tools (Linux) and GCC Cross Compiler Support
The "MSP430 GCC Tools (Linux)" updated to version 5.3.0.105. The installed "GCC Cross Compiler Support" version is 8.5.0.201409172108 while the last available one is 8.8.0.201509131935.
This is a problem because the older linker scripts do not fit to the newer compiler.
How can I update the linker scripts?
CSS Version: 6.1.1.00022
The GCC Cross Compiler Support package is a generic Eclipse feature. TI cannot provide support for it.
As for the linker scripts, please see this forum thread.
Thanks and regards,
-George
The thread is about older versions. I installed CCS v6 the first time. Actually I don't know in which package the header files and linker scripts are. The GCC Cross Compiler Support package was a guess.
We had different build results on different PCs. It turned out, that on one PC there is a fresh install of CCS. The extra files there are newer than the files on my PC. I installed all available updates but I have still the older files (and CCS 6.1.1 which is also not the last version)
