compiler definition not available

I just reinstalled the CCS environment and I'm getting the folllowing error when trying to import one of my old projects, also importing some example projects I downloaded:

See details below.
Error: Import failed for project 'MG_hello' because its compiler definition is not available. The project does not appear to be a 'CCS Project'. Please try importing it through the 'General > Existing Projects into Workspace' wizard.
Error: Import failed for project 'Mongoose' because its compiler definition is not available. The project does not appear to be a 'CCS Project'. Please try importing it through the 'General > Existing Projects into Workspace' wizard.

However, when I try to import as an existing project as suggested i get this:

Please use the 'Code Composer Studio > CCS Projects' wizard to import the project 'MG_hello'.

Is there any way to bypass the project import wizard, import the project then fix the compiler settings?

I'm finding CCS very frustrating, bordering on unusable. Is CCS for OSX considered production ready?

  • The same project imports into the same version of CCS (sorry, 6.1.3.00033 for OSX) on another machine with no problem.

Ironically I reinstalled CCS on the machine that has a problem just before importing.

I have another couple of issues that I'll post separately.

Can anyone suggest a more stable/ reliable environment - does CCS work better on windows/linux or is IAR better?
