Missing MSPWare in resource explorer

Hello

I've installed MSPWare via CCS 6.1.3's app center. Though the installation went fine, it does not show in the resource explorer.

I'm using Windows 10. I can manually add the package in the explorer by pointing it to c:\ti\MSP430Ware_3_40_00_19 but this doesn't seem to install the extras or custom icons or functionality I'd expect (just a undocumented list of the project files contained in the directory).

I've tried uninstalling CCS and reinstalling it (once selecting the optional "MSPWare" add-on during installation, another time installing without then manually adding it via the app center) but MSPWare still does not appear in the resource explorer.

Any suggestions?

    Interesting; I saw the same issue as you: the MSP430Ware 3.40.00.19 installed but it was not promptly acknowledged by TI Resource Explorer on my Windows 10 Pro 64. In order to add it correctly I had to click on the Add packages button and point to the following directory to properly acknowledge all the paths, icons, etc.

    C:\ti\MSP430Ware_3_40_00_19\MSP430Ware_win

    I will double-check what may be happening with the install procedure and get back to this thread.

    Just one question: you are using CCSv6.1.3.00034, right?

    Yes that's right, I am using the latest 6.1.3.00034 version. I'm away from my laptop at the moment so can't verify whether pointing to the *_win sub folder includes the icons etc. but will check when I can.

    It seems the MSP430Ware package is at fault in this case, as I can see the same thing happening in Windows 7 which also has other packages previously installed via the App Center. I will contact some folks in the MSP team and see if they can comment on this.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

    I can get the equivalent functionality by pointing resource explorer to the MSP430Ware_win subfolder as you suggested, so that's fine for me now - but yes, having this happen out the box again will certainly save confusion for first-time installers!
