How can i know in the PC using DSS API when a breakpoint is reached in board TMX320?

Im developing a java application to debug C files in the TMX320 board. Im trying to catch the breakpoint event in the debugging PC so the java application knows when to read symbols or data.

Can you help me out?

Thanks,

José Revuelta

  • Hello,
Please take a look at the Breakpoints.js example that comes with DSS. It is located in: <CCS INSTALL DIR>\ccsv6\ccs_base\scripting\examples\DebugServerExamples

The example shows how to set breakpoints and how to check if the PC is halted at a particular location where a breakpoint is set

    Thanks

  • Hey Ki, i'm wondering if its possible to know WHEN not IF the breakpoint is reached and the application is halted, so i don't have to constantly check the value of an evaluation. Maybe with an event handler or an observer / listener from java.

  • Not for a specific breakpoint. But there is a GEL callback for when the target is halted (OnHalt). One option is to have OnHalt check the PC value and see if it matches the address that the breakpoint of interest is set to. If they match, you can then output a GEL string to notify you.
