CCS V6.1 unable to select the MSP430 GCC compiler

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2955

Hi,

I'm trying to start a new CCS Project for a MSP430G2955 by using the MSP430 GCC Compiler,

but I can not select the GCC compiler.

I've installed the lastest GCC compiler Tools :

But I can't use the GCC compiler.

How can I fix the problem?

Kind Regards,

Arne

  • Hi Arne,

What exact version of CCSv6.1 are you using? Also, when you look at the list of installed compilers for MSP430, does it show up in the list?

    Thanks

    Anne,

Did you install the MSP430 GCC from CCS App Center?
Can you provide the exact version of CCS you are using and the host operating system?

There is a related post here but in that case we were not able to reproduce the issue locally. Could you try the suggestions in that post (to uninstall and reinstall the GCC tools) and let us know if it helps?

  • I'm using Code Composer Studio: 6.1.1.00022 on a Windows 10 Home PC.

And the following MSP430 Compiler are installed:

How can I update my workbench?

When I press "Help"->"Check for Updates" there are no Updates found.

This is a known issue with CCS 6.1.x versions prior to 6.1.3. Please see this thread for details. You can try the workaround posted in the referenced thread but a better option would be to download and install the latest version v6.2.0, which fully supports the MSP430 GCC compiler.
