My code was running, then I made some changes....

Now, it is completely dead. In the Emulator properties, Target tab Auto Run to main is checked. We never get to main(). I started stepping through from c_int00, but single stepping requires a coffee break on each step so I am not getting very far.

I added some code to write to the I2C. Apparently something is missing. But., what is the sound of nothing? I will be working to try to figure out what is missing. I can imagine that this has happened many times in the past. Hoping someone has some idea how to figure out why I never get to main().

Sorry, but I have all of the current, compatible configuration and libraries. The i2csample builds and runs fine.

I think I found the problem.

One difference was that the i2csample.tcf was creating a heap. I added creating a heap and now it runs to main().

Any idea why a heap is now necessary? As far as I can see, the i2csample does not use the heap. And, as far as I can tell, the I2C docs do not specify a heap requirement. I have not read the EDMA docs.

If the example you refer is the C674x PSP I2C example located in one of the directories below, the file <i2csample.c> contains a few calls to GIO_create() that will require the use of heap.
