UniFlash 4 Beta: how to check for updates

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

I have installed UniFlash 4.0.881 Beta.

How do you check for software updates in the new interface (e.g. to keep the TI emulators in CCS 6.2.0 and UniFlash 4 at the same release)?

Edit: I tried the autoupdate-windows.exe in the installer directory. That one fails with message:

Error parsing server XML file:

Invalid XML: error "syntax error" at line 1 character 0
"F <-Error--ile not found.""

According to the settings in update.ini, the update file should be on this URL: http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/uniflash/update.xml

[Update]
url = http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/uniflash/update.xml
version_id = 400881
update_download_location = C:\Users\jancu\AppData\Local\Temp
check_for_updates = 1

  • Jan,

    Thank you for accessing the UniFlash v4 beta.

    For UniFlash v4, updates are automatically checked when you start up the GUI. If there are updates available, a pop-up will appear in the UniFlash GUI. If no updates are available, no pop-ups will appear.

    The current version of UniFlash v4 should already have the same version of the Emulation package that is included in CCS 6.2.0.

    For future UniFlash releases, we are currently looking into the ability to provide more information on the component versions installed in a UniFlash build. Hopefully, this will make it easier to compare the versions between UniFlash and CCS.

    As for your error you are seeing in running autoupdate-windows.exe, this is expected as there are no updates available on the server.

    Thanks,
    Ricky
  • I'm confirming that today the UniFlash application flagged that updates are available on startup,
    and all installed nicely.
