CCS v6.2 GUI Composer Linux

I'm trying to setup the new CCSv6.2 for Linux on Ubuntu 16.04 (Thank you so much for making it native 64bit now!) and I'm not able to install GUI Composer through the app center. I installed CCS as root and am running it as root. I get the following error on stdout when trying to install GUI Composer:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Chromium Browser Feature 6.2.0.201603082000 (com.ti.chromium.browser.feature.group 6.2.0.201603082000)
Missing requirement for filter properties ~= $0: Chromium Browser Feature 6.2.0.201603082000 (com.ti.chromium.browser.feature.group 6.2.0.201603082000) requires 'com.ti.chromium.browser.gtk.linux.x86 [1.0.0.201603082000]' but it could not be found

I am able to install any other add-on in the app center with no issues.

The wiki page ( http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:GUI_Composer  ) doesn't make it seem like there is a v6.2 available yet. Is it just something I will need to wait for or do I have an issue?

  • Hi,

Please apologize for the confusion. The CCS-based GUI Composer is not supported in CCSv6.2 for Linux anymore. The wiki page should have reflected this and the App Center should not show it as a CCS Add-on product.

I changed the wiki page and filed CCSIDE-2948 to remove it from the App Center.

You can try the GUI Composer v2.0 at https://dev.ti.com

    Regards,
    Rafael
  • Ah, ok. That's too bad. I primarily used GUI Composer for field testing where I didn't have internet access. I didn't know the "cloud" version would be phasing out the local version. Will this be happening on the OSX and Windows platforms eventually?
